Fort Walla Walla Museum offers a new Entry Hall & Exhibit Galleries, four large exhibit halls, 17-building pioneer village, more than 40 Living History performances each season, and excellent children's programs. Many of these have gained regional and national significance. The Museum occupies 15 acres within Fort Walla Walla Park, part of the original 600-acre military reservation of Fort Walla Walla. The City of Walla Walla maintains the military cemetery adjacent to the Museum's entrance. Visitors may enjoy the cemetery, park, and all its facilities. The Rotary Picnic Shelter and other areas in the park may be reserved by calling the City Parks & Recreation office at 509-527-4527. The Museum exisits as a private, not-for-profit institution [501 (c) 3] separate from the City of Walla Walla.

Much of the Museum is outdoors and walking throughout the pioneer settlement and exhibit halls is encouraged. Visitors are advised to wear clothing suitable to the weather and comfortable shoes. For those whose mobility is challenged, the Museum offers golf cart service between the pioneer settlement on the lower level and the exhibit halls on the upper level. Wheel chairs are available upon request.

If you're in the region to tour the many outstanding wineries, take a break to refresh your
palette with a visit to the Museum's Cinseault/Black Prince vineyard. Planted in 1995 by
noted winemaker Berle 'Rusty' Figgins, the vineyard displays an unusual, yet historic, concept in training grape vines.

NOTE: Exhibit Hall 1 has been replaced with our new Entrance Building & Exhibit Galleries as the Museum proceeds with its Services and Facilities Enhancement Project. A new Children's Play Fort (below) has been funded and installed by Walla Walla Sunrise Rotary on the Parade Grounds behind the new facility, offering kids an opportuity for energy release through safe climbing, imagination, and recreation.

agreemen,t Tamástslikt Cultural Institute's Inwai Circle cardholders and enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation. School Tours-2010

2010 admission-free guided school tours are available through the generosity of
Boise's Wallula Mill, Blue Mountain Area Foundation, Milton-Freewater Area Foundation,
Mary Baker Esary Trust, J.L. Stubblefield Trust, Bonnie Braden Trust, and Pacific Power Foundation.

Call the Museum (509) 525-7703 Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to arrange
your tour.

Museum Hours

Open Daily 10 am - 5 pm, April through October
The Headquarters business office remains open year round (except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, & New Year's Day). Stop in to see the Museum's Art Gallery and Research Library, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

How To Find Us

The connection along Myra Road between US Highway 12 and
State Route 125 is complete.

You can download this map here (see page 2).

Construction and improvements on Myra Road are completed, making the connection between old US Highway 12 and State Highway 125 (State Highway 11 in Oregon) a through route. Roundabouts at the intersection of Myra Road, Pine Street and US Highway 12 are new to many drivers and caution is advised.

Construction on a new section of US Highway 12 will continue. Check for updates from the Washington Department of Transportation.
