John Singleton. 2008 is the sesquicentennial anniversary of the opening in 1858 of Fort Walla Walla at its final site, now the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center.
May 25 Living History at 2:00 pm

June 14-15 Fort Walla Walla Days and Western Art Show
Our 2nd annual event! Historic interpreters represent 19th century military encampments and the fur trade era. Members of the area's Homeland Tribes share their stories, too. Celebrated artist Norman Adams coordinates a showing of local art makers in the Toner Schoolhouse of the Museum's pioneer village.

Hands-on day camp allows kids ages 9 - 11 to experience life the pioneer way.
July 15 Quarterly Meeting
The public is welcome to attend this meeting of the Fort Walla Walla Museum/Walla Walla Valley Historical Society. After a brief business meeting, enjoy our guest speaker. Refreshments available. 7:00 pm in the Wallowa Room at Best Western Walla Walla Suites Inn, just behind Destination Grill at the Depot on 2nd Street in beautiful, historic Walla Walla.

Dip into free ice cream and enjoy live music, classic automobiles, and a Living History Company performance.
Aug. 30 Celebrate Women's History!
A spcial Living History performance celebrates ratification of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution, guaranteeing American women's right to vote. 2:00 pm in the Museum's pioneer settlement.
Sept. 11 Flag Retirement Ceremony
Area Boy and Girl Scouts demonstrate the proper and solemn retirement of flags that have served our country long and faithfully. An admission-free evening program open to the public.
Sept. 11-25 Annual Heritage Quilt Festival
Our popular annual display includes a selection of the Museum’s more than 80 heritage quilts. On exhibit through Fall Harvest Festival.
Sept. 20-21 Fall Harvest Festival / German Heritage Day
In its 17th season, Fall Harvest Festival visitors can observe pioneer crafts and skills, classic trucks,'Sisters in Art' show, and Living History programs. A selection of the Museum's more than 80 heritage quilts will be on display. Many exhibitors offer handiwork for sale, recreating the old-time harvest get-together atmosphere. On Sunday, music, dancing, story-telling, and food tell the saga of the Germans from Russia who immigrated to the Walla Walla Valley.

at Walla Walla Community College
Walla Walla Community College hosted the 2007 Waluulapum Warriors Pow-wow in The Dome. Master of Ceremonies: Fred Hill, Sr.; Host Drum: Indian Nation; Arena Director: Levi Blackwolf.

If you can't be there, you can participate by purchasing medium cheese or pepperoni pizzas at great prices. Throw in a liter of Coca-Cola to call it a meal ~the Musuem receives a percentage of sales.

Fort Walla Walla Museum is open for visitation 10:00 am - 5:00 pm daily, April through October. Admission is free to members of Fort Walla Walla Museum, Tamástslikit Cultural Institute Inwai Circle cardholders, enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, and all children under 6; $3/children 6-12; $6/seniors (62+) and students; $7/adults. Your admission fee may be applied to a membership, priced beginning at $25.
Museum Headquarters remains open for business purposes weekdays November through March, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Stop in to see the Museum's art gallery.
