Camp Director Marcie Anderson, an experienced
3rd-grade teacher at Davis School in College Place, returns for her seventh year of service.
With the assistance of caring, informed adult volunteers at a series of enjoyable stations,
kids participate in the activities of the day
and learn the value of giving back to the community.

Explorers Kids Camp on June ?? is a program designed for children ages 9 through 11 to help them learn about life as it was for the Lewis & Clark expedition and the Indian people of the Mid-Columbia region they met. Enrollment is limited to assure that your child or grandchild will experience small group hands-on activities that help make real connections with the past. Led by Marcie Anderson, an experienced 3rd-grade teacher at Davis Elementary, kids may participate in:

make a 'burden basket'         make a 'possibles' bag

military drills   make a Native American 'God's Eye'     

learn bow & arrow safety

meet a Hudson's Bay Company trader!    

Cost is $30 per child ($25 for Museum members), with some financial aid available. Your cost includes a choice of lunch and official camp T-shirt.

Pioneer Kids Camp is Fort Walla Walla Museum’s second hands-on experience for children ages 9 -11 in the summer. Scheduled for July 24, children learn about life in Pioneer days. Led by Marcie Anderson, an experienced 3rd-grade teacher at Davis Elementary, activities children may participate in are:

old-time musical instruments          'build' a log cabin           gold panning

blacksmith chores     old-fashioned games    make a 'quilt'
